Emergencies are scary, and it's often hard to think straight let alone know what to do. Think of it like a fire drill in school. The best thing you can do for an emergency besides prevention is to BE PREPARED.
This means: 1) PREVENTION, 2) PREPARATION, 3) PRACTICE
The main goal is always to do everything you can to avoid an emergency
But, they happen and it's much easier to do something about in an emergency if you have access to what you need to do something about it
It's just as important to know how to properly implement those tools / plans, and for it to be something you're so familiar with you barely have to think about it when you do it.
